On September 17, 1787, the United States Constitution was signed in Philadelphia and has served as our country’s foundation of law and democracy for the past 235 years.
This commemoration started in 1940, when Congress passed a resolution authorizing and requesting the President to issue an annual proclamation setting aside the third Sunday in May for the public recognition of all who had attained the status of American citizenship. In 1952 Congress repealed this joint resolution and passed a new law moving the date to September 17 to commemorate the signing of the Constitution.

It is time once again to fill vacancies within our School Site Council. Currently, we have two openings for the position of “Parent Member.” As members of the School Site Council, parents, teachers, students, and administrators meet four times per year to discuss school programs and the necessary funding sources for implementing the Single Plan for Student Achievement.

Today, our Liberty Patriots learned some history on the events that took place on September 11th.
Tomorrow, Friday September 9th, students and staff are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue in observance of Patriot Day, 9/11.
We are so proud of our August Students of the Month. These students were recognized for their representation of respect on our Liberty campus.
Thank you to all the parents and guardians that were able to join us to celebrate their Patriot.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 7th's HOME flag football has been postponed. We will update, when we have a rescheduled date.
Volleyball will still be scheduled to play tomorrow.
Just a reminder there is No school on Monday, September 5, in observation of Labor Day. School resumes on Tuesday, September 6.

Thank you to the parents and guardians that joined us yesterday for our Parent Night.
They received great information from Mrs. endo our Liberty counselor, on teens using social media. Thank you to our supporting staff including, Mrs Revious, Mrs. Mathers, Nurse Martin and Officer Gonzalez.

Thank you to all the students, staff, and community that came out to support our Patriots on their first home game.
Even with volleyball canceled, the two teams were able to play a scrimmage game.

First day of colorguard tryouts. We are so excited to have Coach Cabuhat back this year.
Tryouts continue next week on the 23 and 25.
First day dressing out for PE classes, start tomorrow, Thursday, August 18th. Make sure your student has their PE clothes ready to go.
Also 8th graders will be getting their Chromebooks, tomorrow, August 18th, during their ELA classes. 7th grade will take place on Friday, August 19th. Double check to make sure your student turned in their first day packet for their chromebook.
What a great turn out for tryouts today. Boys Flag Football and Girls Volleyball tryouts continue tomorrow after school.
Make sure your student has a signed permission slip for tryouts.
Just a reminder, Mondays are early release days. School ends at 1:38pm.

Next week students will be receiving their chromebooks, so double check to make sure their first day packets were returned.
