Staff spotlight: Mr. Keel
Mr. Keel is a paraprofessional on our Liberty Campus, and he has been working here for a total of 10 years. Not only does he help staff and students in class, but he also coaches many of the sports teams throughout the season.
Mr. Keel is one of three veterans at Liberty. Our yearbook staff interviewed him on his service. In 1972, he enlisted into the Marine Corps. He started as a radio communicator, and then he served during the Vietnam War as a foreign observer. As an observer, he had to find out the location of the enemy's machine guns, supplies holes, and artillery. After the Marine Corps, he joined the United States Navy, and then lastly, the United States Army. His fondest memories are the friendships he made during his service.
Mr. Keel is the kind of person who naturally builds strong, meaningful relationships with students and staff. His warm and approachable demeanor creates an environment where students feel safe, valued, and motivated to succeed. His genuine care extends beyond the classroom, as he collaborates effortlessly with fellow staff members, sharing ideas, supporting initiatives, and always working to improve the Lemoore community.

Competition is heating up as advisory classes continue to receive donations for the canned food drive. Mrs Banuelos, E is leading, followed closely by Mr Garcia's class. Not far behind is Ms. Escobedo's class. Every contribution counts, and there's still time to help your student's advisory team take the lead before the contest ends on 11/21. Let's keep the momentum going and fill those bins with generous donations.
Winter percussion and winter guard tryouts start soon.
Please double-check the updated tryout times for winterguard. Also, a reminder that winterguard will require a permission slip filled out via parentsquare.com for tryouts. The form will be available tonight, Friday, October 8th, at 5pm.
We are encouraging our Patriots to wear Red, White, and Blue tomorrow, Friday, November 8, for school spirit and in observance of Veterans Day.
Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday, November 11, for Veterans Day. Our Liberty Marching Band and Colorguard will be performing with Lemoore High School at the Veterans Day parade. We hope you can join us.
Our ASB and Band students are selling tickets to our Taco Dinner Fundraiser. You may also purchase from the front office.
We are selling tickets for $12 each, CASH ONLY. Each dinner comes with 3 tacos (either chicken or asada) rice, and beans. Pick up will be on Thursday, November 21st, from 2pm to 4pm. Just a reminder that day is an early release day for Parent Teacher conferences; school ends at 1:38pm. We appreciate your support. All proceeds help benefit our end of the year activities and trips for ALL Liberty students.
We are also currently still going through our Canned Food Drive event. Liberty has been challenged to donate over 3000 items to our local community, by Thursday November 21st. We have two weeks left. Your kindness and support make a real difference. Together, we're helping to provide meals and hope to our community. Thank you.
This year, our Liberty history team hosted an exciting and educational mock election, giving students a hands-on opportunity to experience the democratic process. The event not only energized the school community but also inspired students to take more of an active interest in politics and civic engagement.
We are proud to recognize our Liberty Students of the Month, chosen by their Advisory teachers for their commitment to integrity. Their actions set a powerful example, proving that integrity is not just about doing the right thing when others are watching, but doing the right thing all the time.

On Friday, our Liberty teachers and staff came together for a successful day of professional development, dedicated to enhancing our teaching practices and fostering a positive learning environment. The learning day was filled with engaging discussions focused on responsive teaching, instructional strategies, and social-emotional learning.
We are grateful to all our staff and teachers for their participation and valuable insights. Together, we are building a stronger community for both educators and students.

Thank you to ASB for organizing our Red Ribbon Week dress up days. Our last day was on Friday with Red Day.
We'd like to thank the local organizations that came out on Friday to close our Red Ribbon week. They helped educate our students on drug prevention and the importance of mental health. Our students were able to interact with people in our community, who are valuable resources, should students need them.

Our Lemoore Union Elementary School District was asked to make a video for Hamish Brewer's opening at the Exemplary Practices Conference, held at California State University, Fresno, this past week.

We had an amazing day today. We ended our Red Ribbon week with Red Day and some local organizations, who came on to campus during lunch, to educate our students on drug prevention and mental health.
We also hope you were able to join us for our annual Trick or Treat Night. Thank you to our Liberty staff and students for helping to setup and run some of our booths. Also a BIG thank you to all the local schools, vendors, community organizations, and families that attended. You helped provide games, entertainment, and candy to hundreds of people on campus tonight. Your support is appreciated and we can't wait for our next community event

It was Neon day today at Liberty. Our students' clothing reflected how bright they truly are. Tomorrow, Friday, October 25th, is Red Day.
