Dear Engvall Elementary families,
The Lemoore Union Elementary School District has a uniform dress code policy at all of our schools. The standardized dress code reflects the need for consistent dress standards at all schools within LUESD. Recently, the Board of Trustees, approved revisions to the districts dress code policy. The Dress and Grooming Administrative Regulation 5132, was updated to reflect the removal of the requirement for all students to wear collared shirts. The policy has been updated to provide clarity of expectations and what is unacceptable at school.
As a school district, we believe that appropriate dress and grooming contribute to a productive learning environment. The school expects students to give the proper attention to personal cleanliness and wear clothes that are suitable for the school activities in which they participate. Student dress must promote a healthy, and safe environment and not cause a distraction that would interfere with the educational process.
Based on the recent Board approval, the parent & student handbook has been revised to reflect the updates to the dress and grooming policy. We encourage our families to read the handbook language in order to understand the expectations related to student dress. The handbook information can be found in the image provided.
